Ravens feed Elijah  1.Kings 17: 2,4-6

Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:  "You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."   So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.  The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

                                              CHARITY PROJECT

The project is being implemented in collaboration with Riga City Council, Riga Social Services, religious organizations and NGOs as well as physical and legal entities to provide support for destitute people under the circumstances of aggravation of economical situation.

Goal of the Project: Regular supply of the indigent persons with foodstuffs and the minimum of hygiene items; rendering moral and spiritual support.

Place of Action:   Riga and district of Riga.

Duration of the Project:  Period of recession of the State economy.

Objectives (tasks, undertakings) of the Project:

·       In collaboration with the State Social Agency, municipality as well aslocally studying the situation, to form the register of addressee of donations;

·       Raising funds and involving donors of prime necessity food and hygiene items;

·       Developing the storehouse for the goods  of prime necessity (food and hygiene);

·       Involving and preparing the volunteers. Forming the voluntary supporting groups for reaching out to indigent people in local city districts.

Addressee of donations:

·       Large families and  single mothers without source of income;

·       Lone pensioners without breadwinner (maintenance);

·       As much as possible, other persons without source of income.
